Argh! I hate midgies. On the gorge walk they were teeming against the group but that didn't stop us having fun! The most fun I had on the gorge walk was when we slid off the waterfall and into a deep pool of water.

Nathan says "My Adrenaline Rush"
I was up second. I had volunteered myself, even though I was nervous. As I leaned back off the cliff and over thin air, my heart started to race. I trusted my leader, Andy, but I wasn't sure I trusted him this much! I had never done abseiling before, this was a new challenge. I slid my hands slowly down the black rope, my hands getting jammed once or twice in the clips that held the rope onto my harness. But I barely noticed the skin coming off of my hands because I was too busy focusing on getting to the bottom of the 20 metre cliff. once I reached the bottom I was really proud of myself for overcoming the challenge. I was relieved to be at the bottom, but I also really wanted to do it again. The rest of the week at camp I have faced other challenges, overcoming every single one and my fears. I am really proud of myself.

Jasmin says "SPLASH!"
I went sailing with my group on Wednesday. I have never sailed before and I was a little scared before we started. After 5 minutes of sailing, Claire and I fell off our boat and into the water! After we finally managed to climb back onto our boat, we did a zig-zag course through the water. We had lunch at a cottage-like building. After lunch, we went back on the boats. I fell off the boat another two times! Rafa then had me and Gabi (I switched partners afte lunch) on his boat for the rest of the time. Rafa and us then had to go save Mrs. Sutton because she had fallen off of her boat, landing with a great big SPLASH into the water. We helped other people who had fallen off their boats after we helped Mrs. Sutton. I had a fantastic day sailing! I hope to have the chance to do it again.

Chris says "Wow!"
Camp is amazing! My favourite activity so far has been gorge walking. I enjoyed the gorge walking because it was an unusual experience wading through water, climbing up mossy, slippery rocks and sliding down waterfalls. I also really enjoyed archery. I've never had the chance to do archery before, but I felt as the day went on I got better and better at aiming at the target. I do miss home though and I look forward to seeing my family and friends.

Whoosh!
At Lagganlia I have learned that I can be independent and face new challenges. Gorge walking was really fun, especially when you go down the slider, but it was tough walking through the water and not knowing when I would slip and sink further in! Today I went tree climbing and I reached the top and rang the bell. I didn't really like all the slugs that were on the tree because I didn't want to step on them going up and I didn't want them on me! Another challenging activity I tried was cycling through the forests behind Lagganlia.

Adeel says "In Less Than..."
SPLASH! My favoruite activity was gorge walking. We walked in a gorge, trying to reach the top. It was slippery, challenging, wet and cold but we made it. Near the top we got to slide down in a narrow, fast flowing area. It was scary and fun. After that, I went down the wiggly rock slide, which was longer and slow and I had to keep pushing every minute. Then we walked along the grass to get back to the van. I've had an awesome time here. As we reach the last few hours I'm sad to be leaving, but happy to be going back to my home.

Dean says "This week at Lagganlia..."
When we first arrived at Lagganlia we explored the area around the centre with our leader, Andy. We had to walk across water and around rocks and some people fell in! The next day I got to abseil down a cliff face! Although it was only 20 metres, I was still scared and was relieved when I reached the bottom. My favourite activity of the entire week, which we did after abseiling, was the skiing we did down the artificial ski slope. The midgies attacked us, but we fought back. On Wednesday Andy took us mountain biking and then gorge walking. On the gorge walk we crawled up waterfalls and slid down natural waterslides. Today we climbed a mountain. It was a 10 kilometre round trip and now my legs are tired! Even though I had lots of fun here, I do miss home and can't wait to see my mum, dad and my little brother.
